Oral Surgery for the General Practitioner
This program is designed to meet the needs of the general practitioner. The presentation will start with initial diagnosis and treatment planning, including when and which specialist to involve for comprehensive care. Topics to be discussed will include: Pathology (what to look for and when to biopsy), Extractions, Bone Grafting, Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics and TMJ treatments.
Indications & Contra-Indications for Dental Surgery
This program is designed to meet the need of mid-level to advanced practitioners and their staff. As with all surgical procedures the systematic medical health of the patient must be evaluated. The degree, type of surgery, anesthesia and general health of the patient are all critcial factors to establish candidacy for surgery. Dental rehabilitation of partially or totally edentulous patients with dental implants and all types of grafting procedures has become common practice, with reliable long term results. Therefore, all indications and contra-indications for dental surgery must be considered.
Today’s Techniques for Implant Dentistry
Over the course of the last 20 years the field of implant dentistry has undergone a tremendous evolution of techniques, materials, diagnosis and treatment options. This program will explore many of these changes. Dentists, as well as staff, will gain important insight intp how implant dentistry can ve done in a more precise and predictable way. This can be done by incorporating ideas that allow for earlier treatments and faster functional utilization of their prosthesis.
This program exposes the dentist and the practice to a myriad of issues that are faced while trying to provide patients with excellent service. A review of malpractice policies and actual cases will enlighten doctors and staff on how to avoid malpractice problems.
